Our Vision and offer to all
My name is Mrs Debbie Satongar and I am the SENDCo here at Cheadle Primary School. I have worked as a class teacher and SENDCo here for several years and am very proud of the inclusive culture we have. Our school is one where everyone is welcomed, supported and forms part of our CPS family. Supporting others and overcoming barriers has been part of my personal and professional life for over two decades. I am fully committed to ensuring that all children with additional needs are supported to thrive and reach their full potential.
As a SENDCO, I am responsible for overseeing the school’s special educational needs provision. I hold numerous qualifications that allow me to do so including the National Professional Qualification for SENDCO’s, Mental Health Leadership, Attachment and Trauma training and am awaiting my result for the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership. My commitment to securing the right support for all extends beyond our school, as I also chair the Moorlands SEND Hub ensuring all children of the Moorlands area receive the support they need.
I whole-heartedly believe that working together with parents and families leads to the best results for our children. We encourage communication with parents and navigate the world of SEND as a team, working together for the best outcomes. Alongside parents, we also work with a large array of specialised agencies to secure the very best support for children and families. Positive relationships are an integral part of our ethos here at Cheadle Primary. Relationships with the children, parents, carers and external agencies. Through these relationships, built on mutual respect and trust we can provide the very best care and support for all our children.

Mental Health Provision
At Cheadle Primary School, we are fortunate to have a team of staff both in school, and externally who ensure the positive mental wellbeing of our children. We have access to a Mental Health in Schools practitioner, a trained Emotional Literacy Support Assistant and two trained Mental Health First Aiders. All staff are trained in Attachment and Trauma practices, plus Emotion Coaching, equipping them with the necessary skills to support all children.
We have a bespoke nurture space, affectionately known as, ‘The Treehouse’. Our team of Y6 Peer Mentors operate from here every lunchtime, supporting their peers with a range of concerns. Our Peer Mentors train for several weeks alongside our Mental Health in Schools Team and always operate professionally and with integrity beyond their years. We are very proud of them! Every year, we have many children who apply for this role which showcases their commitment to supporting one another.
